Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the latest movie in the Star Wars Saga being produced by JJ Abrams coming out in theaters December 18th, 2015.

The story will be a continuation of the previous movie The Return of the Jedi, picking up approximately 30 years after the ending of the last movie and the Battle of Endor.

After the death of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine, the Galactic Empire was thrown into turmoil and now the new allies of the Rebels, Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) have to help take down Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and his new Galactic Army.

Many fans look forward to the continuation of George Lucas’s classic space opera, but many have noticed the lack of information regarding the roles of the older protagonists, especially Luke Skywalker, the film’s titular Jedi.

Regardless of returning characters, J.J. Abrams, the film’s director, has had experience with revitalizing science fiction genres having directed 2009’s Star Trek reboot and the subsequent sequel Star Trek: Into Darkness.

Abrams also boasts several other critical successes being involved with productions such as Lost (2004-2010), Super 8 (2011), and Cloverfield (2008). Star Wars fans can be sure of an innovative look at the classic series from the award winning director.
